WCK's Türkiye Earthquake Response (July 2025)

World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in Türkiye, where wildfires and strong winds have forced over 50,000 people to evacuate their homes in Izmir and Hatay. Our teams are assessing needs in impacted communities as first responders work to contain the blazes. We’re working with trusted local partners who supported our response to the devastating 2023 earthquake.

In 2023, our teams responded to the earthquake that rocked both Syria and Türkiye, using all available resources to serve communities cut off by the destruction. We served over 12 million meals during this response, many of them in the Hatay region.

WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutritious meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly and effectively. We know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis around the world.
